Signiel Seoul Breakfast

Having woken up at 6 in the morning, I went for a swim and then had breakfast.

You can pre-pay for breakfast at check-in, but it’s non-refundable. So, if you plan to have breakfast the next day, I recommend paying on-site.

I went early, so there weren’t many people, and they guided me to a window seat.

They even pulled out the chair for me, and the service was really friendly. Once I was seated, they offered coffee, but since I don’t drink coffee, I requested Rooibos tea. (There’s no tipping culture in Korea, so don’t tip under any circumstances.)

I didn’t take many food photos, but there were dishes like abalone porridge, sweet pumpkin porridge, bacon, grilled sausages, sautéed mushrooms, grilled chicken gizzards, and rice cakes with beef patties.

The variety of food may not be extensive compared to the price, but the quality of ingredients and preparation is high. It seems like excellent dishes prepared by skilled chefs.

<Dessert Corner>

The dessert corner had a selection of salads, cereals, cheeses, and yogurts.

They provided rice and soup as a basic offering, and the beef bone soup (gomtang) was really delicious.

Additionally, you could choose from omelets, scrambled eggs, or fried eggs as additional options.

Beef bone soup, known as “gomtang” (곰탕) in Korean, is a traditional Korean soup made from simmering beef bones and brisket for an extended period. It’s typically served with a clear, milky-white broth and contains tender pieces of beef, radish slices, and often some seasoning with ingredients like salt, garlic, and green onions. Gomtang is known for its hearty and comforting flavor, making it a popular choice for breakfast or anytime you’re craving a warm and nourishing soup in Korean cuisine.

They had a variety of jam flavors like fig, apricot, blueberry, etc., but I opted for the classic strawberry jam. 🙂

I decided to try the cheese just once out of curiosity, but it was so strong that I almost made a face. It’s too intense for a Korean palate. 🙁

I tried both plain and blueberry yogurt, and the plain one didn’t have much flavor, but the blueberry yogurt was delicious!

There were also drinks, water, and fruits near the restaurant entrance.

I was pleasantly surprised by the fresh fruit juice as it had very few additives. The flavor was really rich and refreshing.

The fruits were in excellent condition, very sweet, and delicious.

I asked one of the staff members for directions to the restroom, and they actually escorted me all the way to the restroom door. It was really clean, and the staff were so friendly. It was such a pleasant experience!

Around 8 in the morning, the restaurant got quite crowded, to the point where there was a waiting line.

For those looking to have a leisurely breakfast, I recommend going early because you might not get a window seat if you arrive late.

Honestly, it might seem a bit expensive compared to the variety of food, but what truly stands out is the service from the staff. Good service contributes significantly to the image of a luxury hotel.

If you enjoy the breakfast at Signiel Seoul without worrying too much about the price, you’re likely to be satisfied.
